If you want a restaurant at the beach with amazing food, but even better beer, Gary's is the way to go. So many beers, knowledgeable staff, and one hell of a Reuben sandwich!

Gary's is a dive bar where you can get some pretty decent grub. The jerk? pork tacos were ok but needed more kick. My group enjoyed their eggplant fries, turkey burger and crab cake sandwich. Service was friendly if not a tad slow. The (music) bass is overdriven such that you can't have a conversation without yelling or tell what song is playing. Upon leaving we found out that they had outdoor seating for the less raucous diners.

Hands down my favorite restaurant / bar in Dewey. The food is immaculately delicious, and the staff have been hand picked by the hospitality gods of Dewey beach. Upon entering, seraphim sing songs of glory as you embark on possibly the greatest Dewey beach experience of your life. Gary's will be the defining moment of your Dewey beach extravaganza. You will tell your children about the experience, your children will tell your children's children and the legend of your turkey burger, and your tale will live on in the hearts and minds of those follow in your foot steps. You will soon learn this is citadel of Dewey beach glory and you will thank me for your future experiences and my customer advocacy. Good luck and god speed. Order beers from Irene and holler at my man crush Alec. They made my experience complete. I can now die happy.

Seriously delicious healthy food! I ate here just about every meal on my recent trip to Dewey. Everything my group had was really good and not to expensive. Also the wait staff is knowledge and friendly. I just don't understand why there isn't one of these on every corner instead of McDonald's. I will be back!!

Great place for a healthy bite to eat while in Dewey. You can eat in or take out. Their blackened tuna wrap with mango salsa is really good as is their grilled salmon sandwich. Everything we tried there was super fresh.

Solid spot for a healthy lunch before you're headed to the beach. Typical beach-side grill with both indoor and outdoor seating. It gets pretty full so you may have to wait a bit for your food but it's not so bad when you're seated outside and soaking up the sun.

Happened upon Gary's Dewey Beach Grill completely by accident last week while in Dewey for the Golden Jubilee with our 3 year old golden retriever Riley. With Riley in tow we arrived in time for a late lunch and were warmly welcomed and seated by Adam, even all the patrons seated at the bar were welcoming and really made for a fun lunch. Hubby and I ordered the caesar salad with grilled shrimp and the Cajun Catfish sandwich, which Adam told us has been the local's favorite for as long as he can remember and after taking one bite I can see why. I was expecting to be served a fried piece of catfish but was pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually grilled and topped with creole seasonings and an amazing garlic sauce and the catfish was the freshest I have ever tasted. The caesar salad came with a generous portion of grilled shrimp, more than enough for hubby and I to share and the caesar dressing was tangy, just the way I like it, and they don't over dress the salad, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, even the croutons tasted like they were freshly baked. We loved everything about this place as did Riley so we will definitely be back..

Food was pretty good, but I didn't care for the atmosphere at all. It's a total dive, and not in a charming way. Flies, drunks, and servers with a single digit IQ. While I was there, someone 12 feet away tipped over a bucket of ice onto the floor. Instead of sweeping it into a dust pan or another bucket, this server swept it across the floor at high speed, out the door, onto the sidewalk, and it pelted us in the legs in the process. One member of our party was 90 years old, he could've fallen and slipped on that (anyone could've), and if that wasn't amazing, one of our drinks had a bug in it. Drunks are all over, it's loud, and parking is extremely limited. I definitely can't recommend this.

The Best Turkey Burgers anywhere! The veggie lasagna is also outstanding. I don't know about anything else because that's all I ever order cause they are so good. The wait staff are all super friendly and accommodating. Good beer selections. Prices are very reasonable too.

Tuna wrap was good, it's healthy food which is cool cuz there's mostly just crap at the beach.....prices were good and service was good.....recommend.

Excellent food. Had seafood étouffée was out of this world. The restaurants bathrooms could use a bit of updating and repair.

Gary's offered bacon sushi and 2 kinds of bacon beer for the bacon festival, wasabi bacon and I'm not sure of the other. The tiny piece of bacon sushi tasted like bacon with a glob of rice, it should have had cucumber or avocado or something. I could not even drink the beer and Nicole B and her bf said it was because it was too hoppy.

Food was cold 3 times... pulled pork tacos were dry, cesar salad no bueno very bland croutons looked like steak and steak looked like croutons. The crab soup was good but cold and the buffalo chicken was okay nothing special but still cold. Service was good. If you are buzzed the food may taste better. Just stay away.

I was there with a party of 15. They let us make a reservation - most restaurants in Dewey do not. The waitress and manager were able to get all of us everything we needed in a timely manner. I got the grilled cheese sandwich. It was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food.

I put together a bachelorette weekend and wanted to make sure the bride-to-be had healthy options for dinner on the Saturday night. With all the pizza and the rest of the tempting greasy foods cluttering the streets in Dewey, Gary's was a breath of fresh air. Just like other places, I chose this one based on other yelpers months ago while I planned everything. Unfortunately this place doesn't do reservations ahead of time, which made me nervous to go down during the summer, but when I called an hour prior to when my group of 12 would come in the staff there were completely accomodating. The place was pretty busy, especially the bar area, but they reserved a perfect spot for us all on the deck. One of my friends and I shared the turkey burger and jamaican jerk pulled pork tacos. Food and drinks came out fast. I posted a picture of the tacos. Both were delicious, especially the turkey burger. It was so favorful and I would definitely order it again. I like that they didn't have a fryer in the kitchen. My bride-to-be had a fabulous time. The staff were welcoming, friendly, informative, and also really great when it came to separating the check in the end after only a few of us had cash. I hope to visit again! :)

Had an awesome lunch here while visiting Dewey. Service is super fast, the food is fresh and reasonably priced. Had a veggie wrap with provolone. It came out packed full of fresh hot veggies in a toasted wrap. Great beach spot where you can get lunch freaky fast for under $10!

Located along the Dewy Beach strip, Gary's is a great place to stop by for a healthy, flavorful lunch. You're not going to find a burger here, or anything remotely unhealthy for that matter. But there are a ton of cheap health options from a salmon or turkey burger to a veggie wrap. The inside feels a bit like a neighborhood bar, not quite in line with the health fare it serves, but a large porch on the side provides nice outdoor seating. The menu is cheap with most everything below $10. My salmon burger on whole wheat bun was absolutely massive and delicious. They offer a ton of great toppings including cranberries, grilled mushrooms and onions in addition to your standard toppings. Yummy veggie chips are served on the side. It's a great alternative to boardwalk fries, especially for people like me who have never quite understood the apparent connection between greasy, fatty food and lounging around on a public beach half-naked.

Worst service I have experienced in my life. I walked in sober with a large group of people and we were forced to leave after an hour of attempting to have the game we came to watch put on. Womans softball was on and no one was watching. The bartender told me he'd change the channel if he had the time. It wasn't even crowded. I asked politely several times. After an hour my waitress asked if we'd like more drinks and I said if you put the game on we'll have another round. We waited ten more minutes and asked for the check. I've been a patron for 6 years and I'll never go back. Never eat at Garys. They have no respect for their customers.
